Italiano Pizza Scroll Burger (Gluten Free)

This little ripper of a burger is not only unique but we’ve used gluten free ingredients to make this the healthiest Italiano Pizza Scroll Burger on the market. The dough is made from hand, just like Mama’ makes it!

Ingredients

For The Dough

• 2 1/2 cups gluten-free pizza and pastry flour (we used Orgran brand)
• 7g sachet dried instant yeast
• Pinch salt
• 1 cup warm water
• 1 tablespoon olive oil

For The Toppings

• Tomato sauce
• Cheddar cheese (no mozzarella allowed here!)
• Basil
• Chives
• Coriander
• Chorizo sausage
• Chicken
• Mushrooms
• Spinach
• Onions

How It’s Cooked

Making a gluten-free pizza scroll is kind of like making any other pizza scroll, the detail is in the dough! The dough is hand-made from scratch, mixing all of the ingredients together to a consistency that allows flexibility to craft the dough. You need to make 2 pizza scrolls for this burger recipe so unless you want a gigantic burger (not exactly healthy!), you’ll need to make them fairly small.

Start with the tomato sauce as the first layer on both pizza scrolls then top with all of your pre-chopped ingredients. Bake the pizza scrolls separately at 180 degrees until just cooked. Now, for the fun part…. To make this a burger.

Take your pizza scrolls and smush them into eachother ingredients first so you are left with the untopped sides on the outer of the burger and place into a toaster. This will melt your ingredients, moulding them together like nothing before to make the PERFECT Italiano Pizza Scroll Burger – gluten-free style!

Hi I’m Tom and I am a university student studying engineering. Italian food is my absolute favourite and coming a close second is a toasted sandwich. Of course, these all sound very fatty and unhealthy but I’ve found if you choose gluten-free options these can really improve the health level of a meal. I don’t always have the time to make meals at home so I think International Zing Burger would be the perfect restaurant for this type of extraordianry burger.
