International Zing Burger has always been about bringing the world’s boldest flavours to your bun — and now we’re going plant-based. We’ve been working with our food partners to develop five brand-new plant-based burgers, each inspired by a different corner of the globe. But we don’t want to choose for you — we want you to vote for the flavour you’re most excited to try, and the winning burger(s) will help shape our worldwide plant-based menu launch.
Scroll down, read about each flavour, and cast your vote in the poll below!
The five contenders:
1. Korean BBQ jackfruit:
Pulled jackfruit glazed in sweet, smoky gochujang BBQ sauce, topped with tangy kimchi slaw and toasted sesame seeds on a soft wheat brioche bun. We chose this flavour because Korean BBQ has exploded in popularity worldwide, and jackfruit’s naturally “pulled” texture makes it one of the most convincing meat alternatives on the market.
2. Indian-spiced chickpea and mushroom:
A warmly spiced chickpea and mushroom patty seasoned with garam masala, cumin and turmeric, served on a mushroom-infused wheat bun with cooling mint-coriander raita. This one made the cut because it leans into the “mushroom bun” trend while giving customers a genuinely different, aromatic flavour experience compared to typical Western veggie burgers.
3. Mexican black bean and chipotle:
Smoky chipotle-seasoned black bean and roasted corn patty, loaded with guacamole, pico de gallo and crushed tortilla chips for crunch. Black bean burgers are already a familiar, trusted plant-based option for many customers, making this a safe-but-exciting entry point for first-time plant-based diners.
4. Mediterranean falafel-style:
A herby falafel-style patty with parsley, garlic and cumin, served on a wheat-and-mushroom blend flatbread bun with hummus, tabbouleh and a tahini drizzle. We included this flavour because it’s naturally vegan, widely loved, and offers a fresher, lighter alternative on the menu.
5. Japanese teriyaki mushroom:
A grilled king oyster “mushroom steak” in a glossy teriyaki glaze, served on a 100% mushroom-fibre bun with pickled ginger, nori and crispy shallots. This flavour showcases mushroom as both the bun and the patty — a bold, fully plant-forward option for adventurous customers.
