The quinoa is a seed which has been known a great success in recent years, so much so that some people call it a “superfood”. It is usually prepared for use as a side dish or for a salad. We can use it as a stellar element of a preparation that will have quinoa as a central ingredient.
Today I propose a simple and delicious recipe for quinoa burgers. To give it a more interesting flavor we will add some cheddar cheese and red onion. These hamburgers are perfect to eat them alone with a salad or to use them with a whole wheat bread and form a more traditional hamburger.
Let’s start by cooking the quinoa by putting it in a pot with a little olive oil. tir for a minute and pour the chicken broth. Let it cook for 15 to 20 minutes until it has been absorbed. Meantime, we can chop our red onion and cheddar cheese. We mix them in a bowl along with the eggs, the garlic powder.
When the quinoa is done, we can add the other ingredients. Season with salt and pepper and stir very well. We put to heat olive oil in a pan. With a spoonful we form the hamburgers and put them to fry in the pan for 4 minutes both sides, till they get a golden brown colour.
As I told you at the beginning, these quinoa burgers are perfect for a complete meal. You can serve them with a salad of green leaves as a main dish. You could use it as a meat replacement to make a traditional hamburger with a good bread. A clear cold beer would be great to accompany this delicious recipe.
